Biography

Amandla Tunesmith (SOUKOUS/AFRO-BEAT) From the French word for "shake," Soukous music originates in Central Africa and is the most popular dance music of modern Zaire and is quickly spreading through out the rest of the world.It incorporates sensual rumba rhythms with Cuban and Caribbean influences, catchy call and response vocals, lively guitar and bass lines and hot percussion to create a sound that is guaranteed to make you move.Amandla Tunesmith took this one step further by adding a horn section.The band has been delivering the spirit of Soukous through out Florida From Key West to Pensacola for the last ten years, playing just about every type of venue you can think of. They have opened up for World Famous Soukous artist Franco and Tabu Ley and Reggae artist Steel Pulse and and Burning Spear and the world Renowned Refugee All Stars
